Port Tampa Bay runs the Channelside Parking Garage at 810 Channelside Drive — an indoor garage across the street from the central cruise terminal. Here are the essentials from the port’s cruise parking page:
- Reserve and pay online in advance by choosing your cruise line and sailing on the port’s parking page.
- Valet is available as an upgrade for an extra fee.
- Oversized vehicle parking is offered; check the port’s page for details.
- Disabled exemptions apply only to qualifying vehicles under Florida law (see FAQ below).
We do not print parking rates because they change and the port sometimes offers promotional prices — check the port’s page when you book.
Flying In: Tampa International Airport (TPA)
Tampa International is roughly 15 minutes from the Channel District, according to the port, and is one of the more pleasant big airports in Florida. Taxis and rideshare are the simplest transfer; your cruise line may also sell transfers.
Fly in the day before. Flight delays are common in Florida’s afternoon storms and in winter weather up north, and the ship will not wait. Our advisors can add a pre-cruise hotel; you can also browse RoomsCheap for hotels and AirfaresForLess for flights.

Driving to the Port
Most drivers reach downtown Tampa on I-4 (from Orlando and Central Florida), I-275 (from St. Petersburg, Bradenton and Sarasota via the Skyway, or from the north) or I-75. Downtown traffic can be heavy on embarkation mornings when several ships are in port, so leave extra time and follow the port’s signs to your terminal. Check the port’s website for current directions before you go.
Drop-off and rideshare
If someone is dropping you off, follow the Blue Route signage for passenger drop-off. Rideshare and taxis use the same drop-off areas.
Coming Back to Your Car
Ships return to Tampa early in the morning. After you clear customs in the terminal, walk or follow signs back to the garage across the street from Terminal 3. If several ships are in port the same morning, expect busy exits — one more reason not to book a tight return flight. If you used valet, follow the port’s signs for vehicle pickup.
